Legła Warszawa!*
Lech Poznań has broken its bad patch (13 years without a victory with Legia away) and won 1:0 today in Warsaw. It’s a historical moment for the team which breaks one barier after other (e.g four won matches in a row) and with today’s victory, still matters in the fight for 2nd place in polish league (1st one is practically unavailable – Wisła Kraków has a big advantage).
The match itself wasn’t very interesting – most of the time ball was being kicked by this or that player. Fatal looses of ball and faul after faul – is how I’d describe 1st half of the match. In the second part Lech started pressing, but wasted its chance. Lech’s play was horrible – especially that Legia was outnumbered, but its opponent wasn’t better. In the last minutes of match Pitry scored and set a score.
Even if the match wasn’t beautiful – Lech finally won in Warsaw and comes back to Poznań with 3 points, which makes possible getting 2nd place in league.
*Legła Warszawa (pol. ‘Warsaw has fallen’)- is a word play (compare Legia with Legła)
